Dr. Adekunle L. Adekola
Pulmonologist
Dr. Adekunle L. Adekola, MD is a board-certified pulmonologist and critical care
specialist with more than 20 years of clinical experience. He earned his medical
degree at the University of Lagos College of Medicine in 1997 and served as a
physician with the Nigerian Air Force before relocating to the United States.
He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Interfaith Medical Center
(Brooklyn, NY), where he was named Chief Resident and received the Intern of the
Year Award in 2002. He completed dual fellowships in Pulmonary Disease and
Critical Care Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center — serving as
Chief Fellow.
Dr. Adekola serves on the Medical Executive Committee and Board of Trustees at
Medical City Lewisville and has been recognized multiple times as Physician of the
Quarter.
My philosophy of care is centered on listening carefully, treating each patient with compassion, and providing evidence-based pulmonary care tailored to individual needs. I believe patients achieve the best outcomes when they fully understand their condition and feel empowered to participate in their treatment plan. Whether managing chronic lung disease, sleep disorders, or complex respiratory conditions, my goal is to help every patient breathe easier and live healthier with dignity and confidence.
